FutureBoks - 2010 Developments
Author: Jacki Condon Date: 9 February 2010 14h30
The New Year is in full swing at the Academy and we have many exciting developments on the horizon.
First of all, I’d like to announce that Resolution Health has come on board and we’re very pleased to be associated with such a dynamic healthcare company.
Due to overwhelming interest, the Academy will be offering three ‘seasons’ of training during 2010, the first is our pre-season conditioning, the second is ‘in-competition’ training and the last is ‘rehabilitation training’.
We’re also proud to announce that through the company, Development through Skills, we have incorporated the Frat (Functional Resistance & Assisted Training) program into our training courses. If you’re not familiar with Frat, this program is utilised by the Golden Lions and is designed to enhance and test the following:
-
Acceleration / Speed
-
Reaction Time / Quickness / Agility
-
Explosive Power
-
Cardio & Muscle Endurance
-
Functional / Physical Strength
-
Improvement of Concentration Ability
-
Motor Components (Co-ordination, Balance, Rhythm, Laterality and Spatial Awareness)
Taking the above into consideration and the fact that our students also utilise Dr Sherylle Calder’s vision program (used by the Springboks) and our individual one-on-one skills and position specific training, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more professional rugby Academy in Gauteng such as FutureBoks.
Finally, FutureBoks Rugby Academy will be exhibiting at a number of school festivals and sporting events this year, the first of which will be at the Saint Benedicts rugby festival on March 5 and 6. We welcome you to visit our stand for a ‘one-on-one’ with our coaches!
