Tiny Boks

The TinyBoks programme is a rugby specific course designed to introduce our young children to the great game of rugby. Because our coaches are dealing with children between the ages of 5 and 7, the key aspects are focused towards fun activities all revolving around the basic skills required to play the game. This includes hand-eye co-ordination drills, handling drills and controlled mini passing activities as well as some agility and reaction skills.

Safety is a primary concern at all times and, therefore, the practices are run in small groups where our coaches are able to exercise control at all times.

The idea behind TinyBoks is to slowly introduce young rugby players into our academy. From the age of 8, our boys are then elegible to move into the academy system but with the added advantage that they have already had a solid foundation. In order for our system to achieve its goals, we require that every child who enrolls in our programme does so on the basis that the parents accept this is not a short-term experience but rather one that your child should be exposed to until the age of 16. TinyBoks is a 2 month programme with one session per week (each session is about 1 hour) run from our field at Leeuwenhof Academy in Bedfordview.

Fee: R400 (ex VAT) per month, payable upfront.
